City of Elsmere Waste Collection

Solid Waste Collection and Recycling in Elsmere is handled by Rumpke. Each resident has one regular pick-up and one recycle pick-up each week per the current contract. Waste collection will not be picked up on Christmas Day or New Years Day. Garbage containers should not be set out to the curb until 6:00 p.m. the night before pick-up and should be removed to the rear premises of your home before 9:30 a.m. the following day.

Please contact Rumpke for scheduled days of collection on your street and to set up your waste collection service at 877.786.7537. Recycling pickup occurs weekly on Wednesdays. In addition, please contact Rumpke in advance if you plan to set out large items for collection. Rumpke requires a 48 hour notice prior to collection day for any large item(s) placed at the curb for pick-up. Additional fees may apply depending on amount of waste or size of collection of large items.

Elsmere Trash Pick Up Schedule

Sanitation District

Sanitation District No. 1 is responsible for the collection and treatment of Northern Kentucky’s waste-water, as well as regional storm water management. You will need to set up your account by contacting the Sanitation District at 859.578.7450.

Water District

The Northern Kentucky Water District handles turning on and off your water. You may contact them at 859.578.9898 to set up your account.

Duke Energy/Owen Electric

Electric and gas service is provided by Duke Energy for most residents of Elsmere. To start service please contact 800.544.6900. For the area of Turkeyfoot Acres, electric service is provided by Owen Electric. To start electric service in this area please contact 800.372.7612.

Kenton County Vacant Property or Foreclosed Property Registry

Mortgagees who file a foreclosure on a vacant residential property anywhere within Kenton County — including the City of Elsmere—must register it with the Kenton County Vacant Foreclosed Property Registry.
